Lockwood is a small farming town in southwestern Missouri, about 30 miles from Joplin via State Route 97 and US Highway 160. Most visitors drive through on their way to larger cities like Joplin (for the airport) or Nevada, Missouri. The town sits amid rolling prairie farmland with easy driving conditions. The 1930s WPA community building with original Art Deco stonework still dominates the town square.
