Lockridge is a small farming town in southeastern Iowa's Jefferson County, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Highway 78 runs right through town, connecting north to Mount Pleasant (15 miles) and south to other rural communities. Most visitors come via Highway 78 from Interstate 80 to the north or Highway 34 to the south. The town's red brick schoolhouse from 1917 still stands as the community center.
