Live Oak is a small county seat in north Florida where US 90 and US 129 intersect, about an hour from both Jacksonville and Tallahassee. Most travelers reach it via US 129 from I-75 near Lake City or along the US 90 corridor. The Suwannee River creates rolling, wooded terrain that feels more like Georgia than typical Florida. The 1904 courthouse clock tower still keeps time over the downtown square.
