Littlefork is a small northern Minnesota town of 636 people reached via Highway 217, about 40 miles west of International Falls through dense boreal forest. The main route connects east to Highway 71 and International Falls for services, or west toward Northome. Long winters and heavy snow make this a challenging drive from November through April. The restored 1902 railroad depot serves as the community center and still houses original Northern Pacific Railway artifacts.
