Lipan is a small Texas town of 490 people in Hood County, about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth via US Highway 377. The town sits in rolling ranch country between Lake Granbury and the Brazos River valley. Most visitors take US 377 through Granbury, while State Highway 16 offers an eastern approach. The historic 1884 limestone schoolhouse remains the town's most recognizable landmark.
