Lilbourn is a small farming town in Missouri's Bootheel region, accessible via State Route 162 from Interstate 55. The community sits amid cotton and soybean fields about 20 miles from the Mississippi River. Most visitors exit I-55 at Marston and drive 8 miles west on Route 162 through agricultural countryside. The town was named after former Missouri Governor Lilburn Boggs, though the spelling changed during incorporation.
