Liberty is a small Randolph County town of about 2,700 people, positioned strategically on US 421 between Greensboro and Asheboro. Most visitors drive south from I-85 or take scenic routes like NC 62 from High Point through the rolling Piedmont hills. The town sits at the original location of the first Krispy Kreme doughnut shop, opened in 1937 before the operation moved to Winston-Salem.
