Lewis is a small farming town of 489 people in south-central Kansas, sitting right on US Highway 50. It's about 45 miles from Great Bend and 50 miles from Dodge City, with State Highway 19 running north-south through town. The area is classic Kansas wheat country with flat terrain and wide skies. The town's red brick post office has been operating since 1918.
