Level Plains is a small Dale County city of 1,600 people in southeastern Alabama, accessible via State Route 134 from Enterprise (15 miles southeast). Most visitors arrive from Montgomery via US 231 south or from Dothan through Enterprise. The area serves military families stationed at nearby Fort Rucker, with Cairns Army Airfield just minutes away. The city operates one of Alabama's smallest municipal water systems from a single deep well.
