Leon is a small farming town of 600 people along US Highway 54 in south-central Kansas, about 35 miles northeast of Wichita. Most visitors arrive via US 54 from El Dorado or Wichita, passing through gently rolling prairie typical of the Flint Hills region. The town's water tower, painted with "Leon Broncos" in school colors, serves as a visible landmark from the highway.
