Leland is a growing suburb in Brunswick County, about 15 miles northwest of Wilmington along the Cape Fear River. Most visitors arrive via US Route 17, the main north-south corridor connecting Wilmington to coastal destinations. Interstate 140 provides quick airport access, while State Route 133 links to downtown Wilmington and Brunswick County beaches. The restored 1904 railroad depot downtown now serves as the town's visitor center and museum.
