Leighton is a farming town of 150 people in south-central Iowa, reached via Highway 92 east-west and Highway 14 north-south. It's about 15 miles west of Oskaloosa and 50 miles from Des Moines. The restored 1920s grain elevator still operates seasonally and serves as the town's most recognizable landmark.
