Leawood is a small Missouri town of about 500 people, located 15 miles northeast of Joplin in Newton County. Most visitors arrive via I-44 (Exit 18A) or Highway 171 from Joplin. The community sits on former railroad land where old Missouri Pacific tracks still cross through town.
