Leadington is a small Missouri city of 900 people in St. Francois County, about 70 miles southwest of St. Louis. Take Highway 67 south from I-55 to reach the community, which sits in the Ozark foothills region. The area was historically centered around lead mining, and the former Doe Run Company smelter was a major local employer until closing in 2013.
