Le Mars sits in northwest Iowa where Highway 75 and Highway 3 intersect, about 25 miles from Sioux City via Highway 75 south or 15 miles west of Interstate 29. The compact prairie town serves as Plymouth County's hub, with most residents commuting to Sioux City for work or heading north toward Sioux Falls. Le Mars calls itself the "Ice Cream Capital of the World" as home to Wells Enterprises, makers of Blue Bunny ice cream.
