Le Center is a farming town of 2,500 people in south-central Minnesota, about an hour southwest of Minneapolis via Highway 169 and Highway 99. The main routes are Highway 14 running east-west and Highway 99 north-south, connecting to Mankato and the Twin Cities area. The town sits in corn and soybean country along the Le Sueur River. Le Center's claim to fame is its 1896 standpipe water tower, one of Minnesota's oldest still in operation.
