Laytonsville sits in northern Montgomery County about 30 miles northwest of D.C., accessible via I-270 to Route 117 west, then Route 108 north. This small rural community of under 700 residents maintains its agricultural character amid the region's suburban growth. The area features rolling Piedmont hills and hosts Montgomery County Airpark nearby. Laytonsville preserves a historic one-room schoolhouse from 1895, one of the county's last remaining examples.
