Lawson is a farming town of about 2,900 people located 30 miles northeast of Kansas City in Clay County. Take I-35 north to Exit 42, then Highway 69 northeast through rural Missouri countryside. The route passes corn and soybean fields typical of the region. The town's restored 1888 railroad depot serves as both a historical museum and community gathering place.
