Laverne is a farming town of 904 people in northwestern Oklahoma, right near the Kansas border. US Highway 412 runs through town, connecting east to Woodward (50 miles) and west into Kansas. State Highway 3 provides the north-south route. Most visitors come via Highway 412 from either direction. The town's massive grain elevator dominates the skyline and can be spotted from miles away across the flat prairie.
