Laurens is a small farming town in north-central Iowa, reachable via Highway 10 from nearby Pocahontas or Storm Lake. Most visitors connect through US Highway 71, about 10 miles east, which links to major interstates for longer trips to Des Moines or Sioux City. The town sits amid Iowa's agricultural heartland and features one of the state's original Carnegie libraries from 1904.
