Laurel is a small Delaware city of about 4,000 people located 20 miles inland from the coast in Sussex County. US Route 13 runs right through town, connecting north to Seaford and Dover, and south to Salisbury, Maryland. Route 24 heads east to Delaware's beaches like Bethany and Rehoboth, about 25 miles away. The town's historic railroad depot now houses the local historical society.
