Laughlin AFB is a small military community in southwest Texas, about 10 miles north of Del Rio near the Mexican border. The base trains Air Force pilots and sits in desert country along the Rio Grande. Most visitors arrive via US Highway 90 from San Antonio (150 miles) or connect through Junction on US 377. The skies above buzz constantly with T-6A Texan II and T-38C Talon training aircraft.
