Lathrop is a small farming town in northwest Missouri, about 45 miles northeast of Kansas City via I-35. Exit 42 connects to Highway 136, which runs east-west through downtown. Most traffic comes from Kansas City or heads to nearby Cameron for services. The BNSF Railway cuts right through the center of town, with freight trains that can stretch for miles.
