Langley occupies the southern tip of Whidbey Island, reachable by ferry from Mukilteo or via Highway 20 through Deception Pass Bridge. Most visitors take the 20-minute ferry ride, which lands right downtown. The town sits on dramatic bluffs above Puget Sound, connected to the rest of the island by Highway 525. A wooden staircase at the end of the main street drops 200 feet to a driftwood-strewn beach.
