Lane is a tiny farming town of 28 people in central South Dakota's Jerauld County. Highway 34 runs right through it, connecting to Huron 25 miles east and Miller to the west. Most traffic is local farm business and residents heading to Huron for services. The grain elevator towers over the prairie, visible for miles as you drive Highway 34.
