Lamar Heights is a tiny Missouri community of 111 people in Barton County, about 10 miles northeast of Lamar via Highway 160. Most visitors arrive from US Highway 71, taking the Lamar exit and heading east. The area sits on rolling prairie where the Ozarks meet the Great Plains, with hot summers and mild winters prone to ice storms. You can still spot remnants of the old Missouri Pacific Railroad grade that once ran through town.
