Laketown is a small community of 437 people on Bear Lake's western shore in northern Utah's Rich County. Reach it via US Highway 30, either north from Logan (45 miles through Logan Canyon) or from Salt Lake City via I-15 to I-84 to US-30 (120 miles total). The town sits at 5,900 feet elevation with the Bear River Range across the lake. Bear Lake's famous turquoise color comes from suspended limestone particles.
