Lake View is a small South Carolina town of about 700 people in Dillon County, reached via US Highway 301 which runs north-south through the community. The town sits in pine forest and farmland country about 15 miles from Dillon and 35 miles from the North Carolina border. State Route 9 provides east-west access, while I-95 lies 20 miles east. The town was named for a lake that supplied a long-gone sawmill.
