Lake Tekakwitha is a small Mississippi River community in Jefferson County, about 30 miles south of St. Louis via I-55 and Highway 61/67. With just over 200 residents, this quiet riverfront spot offers scenic views between Festus and Crystal City. The town is named after Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American canonized by the Catholic Church.
