Lake is a small Mississippi town of about 500 people in Newton County, sitting on Highway 15 between Jackson (30 miles southwest) and Philadelphia (25 miles north). The main route from Jackson follows I-20 east to Highway 15 north. The town's century-old general store remains the community hub and local landmark.
