Lake City is a tiny farming town of 40 people in northeastern South Dakota's Marshall County. Reach it via State Highway 15, about 12 miles south of Britton or 25 miles north from Aberdeen on US Highway 12. Long-distance drivers from Sioux Falls take I-29 north to Highway 12 west. The grain elevator dominates the skyline, visible for miles across the flat prairie.
