Lafayette is a small Yamhill County city of 4,500 people along Highway 99W in Oregon's wine country. It's 45 minutes southwest of Portland and serves as a gateway to Willamette Valley vineyards. The mild climate supports surrounding wineries and hazelnut farms. The 1920s Yamhill County Granary, a massive grain elevator, towers over downtown as the town's most recognizable landmark.
