Lafayette is a tiny farming community in west-central Ohio, 15 miles southwest of Lima via State Route 309. The town sits amid typical Ohio farmland with rolling fields and scattered woods. Interstate 75 runs 10 miles east through Lima for longer trips, while SR 117 provides east-west access through rural Allen County. Lima Allen County Airport is just northeast of town. The historic grain elevator stands as Lafayette's most recognizable landmark, visible for miles across the flat countryside.
