Ladd is a small farming community in north-central Illinois, about 100 miles southwest of Chicago via I-80 west. Take the Peru exit and head north on Route 251 for 8 miles to reach town. The area sits along the Illinois River valley where prairie meets wooded bluffs. You can still spot remnants of the original tallgrass prairie that once covered most of Illinois.
