Lackland Air Force Base sits southwest of San Antonio and serves as the Air Force's primary training hub. Drive there via I-410 Exit 5A to Military Drive West, about 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio. Long-distance visitors use I-35 from Austin/Dallas or I-10 from Houston, while locals take Loop 410 and Highway 151 for daily commutes. Every enlisted airman in the U.S. Air Force completes basic training here.
