La Tour is a tiny Johnson County community of about 130 people, located 45 miles southeast of Kansas City via I-49 south and Route 58 east. Most traffic consists of locals heading to Warrensburg for services or travelers passing through the rural farmland. The town's name means "the tower" in French, though no one knows exactly why this Missouri settlement got that designation.
