La Crosse is a small Virginia town of 550 people in Mecklenburg County, connected by US Route 58 and State Route 49. Most visitors arrive via US 58 from South Hill (15 miles east) or use it to reach I-85 for longer trips to Richmond or North Carolina. The town preserves one of Virginia's original Rosenwald Schools from the 1920s.
