Krebs is a small coal mining town in southeastern Oklahoma, about five miles west of McAlester via Highway 31. From Oklahoma City, take I-40 east to Henryetta, then US-75 south through McAlester. From Tulsa, follow US-69 south to McAlester and connect west on Highway 31. The town sits in rolling hills typical of eastern Oklahoma's transition zone between prairie and forest. Known as "Little Italy of Oklahoma," Krebs celebrates its Italian immigrant heritage with Pete's Place restaurant, which has served the same Italian sausage recipe since 1925.
