Kosciusko, the Attala County seat, sits in central Mississippi along Highway 35, about 65 miles north of Jackson. Highway 12 runs east-west through town, connecting to Columbus and the Alabama border. The scenic Natchez Trace Parkway passes just east of the city, offering an alternative route for tourists. Named after Polish Revolutionary War hero Tadeusz Kościuszko, it's one of the few American cities honoring a Polish figure.
