united states

Knik-Fairview is an unincorporated community about 20 miles northeast of Anchorage along the Glenn Highway. Most folks commute to Anchorage for work or head north to Palmer and Wasilla for shopping. The area has grown as Anchorage's suburbs expanded into the Mat-Su Valley, with several small airports nearby reflecting Alaska's strong aviation culture. The community gets its name from a historic trading post that supplied gold miners bound for the Iditarod.
