Knightstown lies on historic US Route 40 about 45 miles east of Indianapolis, making it a convenient stop for road trippers following the old National Road. Most visitors arrive via US 40 or detour from nearby I-70. The town's biggest claim to fame is the Hoosier Gym, where they filmed the classic basketball movie "Hoosiers" in 1986.
