Kirbyville is a small East Texas timber town of about 2,000 people, located 30 miles northwest of Beaumont in the Piney Woods. US Highway 96 runs north-south through town as the main route, connecting to Beaumont and the Houston area. Most visitors arrive via US 69 north from Beaumont, then US 96 north. The town features a restored 1914 railroad depot museum that highlights its history as a lumber railroad junction.
