Kinta is a small eastern Oklahoma town of about 295 people, located 15 miles southeast of McAlester on Highway 2. You'll reach it via US-69 to McAlester, then east through rolling Ouachita Mountain foothills. The area's continental climate brings hot summers and mild winters typical of the region. Kinta hosts an annual Sucker Day Festival celebrating the redhorse sucker fish that historically filled local creeks each spring.
