Kingstown is a small Cleveland County community of about 380 people, located 45 miles west of Charlotte in North Carolina's foothills. US Highway 74 provides the main access, connecting east to Charlotte and west toward the mountains, while State Route 18 handles north-south traffic to Shelby and other county towns. The town features a preserved one-room schoolhouse from the early 1900s that still stands today.
