Kingsford is a small Upper Peninsula city of 5,100 people, connected to Iron Mountain across the Menominee River via US-2 and US-141. It's about 55 miles from Escanaba and serves as a regional hub with Ford Airport nearby. The town grew around Henry Ford's timber operations and still features the 1936 Art Deco Kingsford Community Center, originally built for Ford employees.
