Kingsburg is a Central Valley farming town 22 miles southeast of Fresno on Highway 99. Founded by Swedish immigrants in the 1870s, it maintains strong Scandinavian traditions amid surrounding vineyards and orchards. Highway 99 connects north to Fresno and south toward Bakersfield, while Highway 180 heads east to the Sierra foothills. The town hosts an authentic Swedish Festival each May with traditional dancing and pancakes.
