Kingman is a small county seat in south-central Kansas, about 40 miles west of Wichita on US Highway 54. Most visitors pass through on US 54 heading between Wichita and western Kansas, though some take Highway 42 north-south through the agricultural area. The 1906 red brick courthouse with its distinctive Romanesque Revival architecture anchors the town square and remains the most photographed building in Kingman.
