Kingman is a small farming town in western Indiana, about 25 miles northwest of Crawfordsville via US Route 136. Most visitors arrive from Indianapolis by taking I-74 west to Crawfordsville, then US 136 northwest. The town sits in Fountain County's agricultural landscape along Big Pine Creek, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Kingman's historic covered bridge over Big Pine Creek remains one of the county's few 19th-century wooden spans still open to vehicle traffic.
