Kindred is a farming town of about 1,000 people located 25 miles south of Fargo on Interstate 29. Highway 46 runs east-west through town, connecting to other rural communities in Cass County. Most visitors are either passing through on I-29 or making the 30-minute drive from Fargo. The town's massive grain elevator dominates the skyline and serves as a recognizable landmark across the flat Red River Valley prairie.
