Kim is a tiny ranching town of 78 people in Colorado's remote southeastern corner, about 40 miles south of La Junta on Highway 109. Most visitors pass through heading to the Oklahoma Panhandle or use it as a waypoint between Colorado Springs and Texas destinations. The high plains setting at 4,200 feet brings hot summers, cold winters, and persistent winds across endless cattle country. The small post office on Main Street doubles as the community's unofficial gathering spot.
